To move water to Mallannasagar.. Power supply works completed
Hyderabad: Transco and Genco CMD Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao has announced that the necessary pumping system to move Godavari waters to Kondapochammasagar through the Kaleswaram project is being prepared on war footing. Prabhakar Rao said that all necessary arrangements for power supply are being made to move three TMCs from Medigadda to Ellampalli and two TMCs from Midmaneru to Mallannasagar in the next year. On this occasion, there was a discussion with the representatives of the Siemens company, which is carrying out the installation of pumps. The pump houses and substations of Ananta Sagar (Package 10), Ranganayaka Sagar (Package 11), Mallanna Sagar (Package 12) were inspected. Anantasagar pumps with a capacity of 424 MW (106 x 4) and Ranganayakasagar pumps with a capacity of 536 MW (134.8 x 4) are ready to pump water. CMD inspected their performance and expressed satisfaction over the works.
Prabhakar Rao said that the electrical work required to operate 4 pumps in the Mallannasagar pump house with a capacity of 344 MW (43 x 8) has been completed. The works related to the other 4 pumps are in progress and the construction of substations, electricity supply etc. required to supply electricity to these pumps have already been completed. CMD Prabhakar Rao ordered the officials to fix the remaining four pumps by the end of this month.
Prabhakar Rao said that since CM KCR has decided to lift 3 TMC from Medigadda from next year, the related power supply works will be undertaken on a war footing basis. He said that in addition to making the necessary arrangements to lift the third TMC within the deadline set by the government, appropriate operations have been prepared to provide the necessary electricity.
