Labor unions, TRTC away
Hyderabad: Central labor unions said that they have called for a nationwide strike today (8th) to protest against the anti-people policies of the central government. Unions said that crores of people are going to participate in this nationwide strike in protest against the anti-labour, anti-public and anti-racism policies being followed by the central government in the name of amending the law. Trade unions like AITUC, CITU, TUCC, INTUC as well as banks and transport companies have announced that they are participating in the strike. 10 central labor unions have announced that they will go on an all-India strike today against the central government’s anti-labour policies, saying that the central labor department has failed to ensure the fair demands of the workers in a meeting held on January 2, 2020. Students unions and university unions have also said that they are going to participate in today’s strike.
Labor unions claimed that the government has already decided to sell Air India and BPCL, the public sector companies in the country, and the center has already privatized 12 airports. The labor unions explained that after the merger of BSNL and MTNL, their workers lost their jobs, and they are also opposing the privatization of railways, corporatization of defense products manufacturing units and merger of government banks in the same manner. The joint platform of farmers and agricultural labor unions have announced their support for this strike in the name of Grameen Bharatband with their demands.
Demands of power sector unions
Important demands.. electricity act 2003 amendment should be stopped. Privatization and franchising in the power sector should be stopped. Old pension system should be implemented. There should be a fair wage for the work. Contract employees and outsourcing in power sector should be regularized. National associations campaign in Singareni. If the service is 33 years, 80 percent of people in Sigareni will have to retire. The central government has already issued direct orders that new blocks should not be given in Singareni, so new jobs will not come in the company. Stop 100 percent investment and stop sale of shares. The trade unions have revealed that support pricing in agricultural products and cancellation of the new penfun are not related to Singareni. The trade unions decided to participate in the strike to protect the fair rights of the workers.
RTC away from the strike!
RTC in Telangana is known to stay away from the strike in the wake of the central trade unions calling for a nationwide strike on Wednesday in protest against the anti-people policies of the central government. Recently after a prolonged strike in the RTC, the Unions were replaced by the Employees Welfare Council. There was no suggestion, call or discussion in the RTC regarding the strike. In this order, it is clear that RTC will stay away from the nationwide strike. Both officials and employees are busy making arrangements for cargo services to be started soon at RTC.
