'Each One Teach One' as Project Work in Degree
Manatelangana/Hyderabad: The Higher Education Council is considering the issue of incorporating the Each One Teach One program as a project work in the degree course, which has been ambitiously undertaken by the government to increase the literacy rate in the state. Project work in the sixth semester of the final year of the degree carries four credits. It is known that two credits are expected to be allocated to this subject in addition to embedding each one teach one in the project work. Sixth semester students of degree will study some illiterates in project work. It is reported that the Each One Teach One program will be included in the degree from the next academic year. The state government along with UGC will initiate changes in degree courses so that candidates who have completed vocational courses like engineering and pharmacy get the same status and wages. The new credits and new syllabus will be applicable to the students joining the degree courses in the next academic year. As part of that, the Each One Teach One program will be incorporated as part of the project in the final semester of the degree.
Radical changes in degree education
Radical changes will take place in degree education. In the course of BA, B.Com, BSc and other courses, no matter which course the student gets admission in, the subjects in those courses and other social aspects are being developed to have awareness and practical knowledge. As a part of that, there will be changes in subject-wise marks and credits in the degree. Credits will be allocated according to the priority of the subjects in the respective courses. Learning Outcomes Based Curriculum Framework for Undergraduate Education (LOCF) was recently released by UGC. The degree will incorporate social aspects along with the curriculum related to skill training to provide employment opportunities. UGC allocates marks and credits to the subjects by determining the objective of the respective courses according to the changing conditions.
