Our Telangana/Hyderabad: Telangana state is one of the progressive states in the country, said IT, Industries and Municipal Administration Minister KTR. He said that no other state in the country has achieved the progress achieved by the state of Telangana in such a short period of time. He described it as the fastest growing state in all fields. Minister KTR explained that now world class companies like Boeing, GE, Safran, Rafale, Lockheed Martin have come to Telangana in aerospace manufacturing. In addition to this, there are about 100 0 aerospace and defense companies MSM in this field.
He said that Telangana has 4 aero space parks, many electronics manufacturing clusters, hardware parks and technology SEZs. State Minister for IT, Industries and Municipalities K. Taraka Rama Rao participated in the preparatory meeting of the Aero Space Show Wings India-2020 program organized by the Government of India in Delhi on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he thanked Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for giving him the opportunity to speak. Telangana government’s policies and government’s performance has made it stand at the top in the ease of doing business rank.
He said priority sector status has been given to aerospace and defense sectors. Minister KTR said that Telangana has good opportunities for investments in this sector. He said that in the five and a half years of the formation of Telangana, the aerospace and defense sector has grown as part of the eco system. The minister revealed that Hyderabad is a pioneer in the field of training in the aerospace sector. He said that in the field of innovation there are T-Hub and Vi-Hab and there is a possibility that innovative ideas will come forward in the field of aerospace and defense through T-Work which will start soon. He said that Tihub is already working with Boeing, Pratt and Whitney and Collins Aerospace start up companies. The minister said that Telangana is the first state in the country to introduce a drone policy.
He said that Telangana government is also giving utmost priority to the aerospace sector and the state of Telangana has reduced ATF from 16 percent to one percent. This is useful for the growth of regional airlines industry. He said that the international airport in Hyderabad is developing with the best standards and has already received many international awards. He said that there is a need to further develop the aerospace sector as per the inspiration of Wings India 2020 program with the slogan ‘Flying for All’. To this extent, plans are being prepared for the establishment of air ports in Warangal, Adilabad, Kothagudem, Jakranpally, Peddapalli, Mahbub Nagar (Addakal), subsidized heliports in Warangal IT cluster, pharmacy and other places, KTR said.
He said that there is a possibility of development of temple tourism and new industrial investments in Telangana through heli ports. For these, the central government has requested to give necessary permissions and funds for support of basic facilities. Minister KTR expressed his happiness for hosting the Wings India-2020 program to be held in the month of March and hoped that through this program the investment opportunities in Telangana can be introduced to the world in the field of aerospace and defense.
Minister KTR met many company representatives
Minister KTR, who is visiting Delhi for Wings India 2020, met representatives of leading aerospace and defense companies. Had a meeting with the India heads of Airbus, GE Aviation, Saffron, BAE (Bay) companies. On this occasion, they discussed the activities currently being conducted by Aya companies in Telangana. In addition, he asked them to come forward to make more investments in Telangana. He said that the Telangana government recognizes the aerospace and defense sector as the most priority sector. He said that after the arrival of Telangana, large-scale investments are coming in this sector due to the government’s support and initiative, but currently there are opportunities for further growth in the aerospace sector in the country.
In this context, he explained to the representatives of the companies that Telangana is giving priority to this sector. On this occasion, Telangana was asked to come forward with more investments in the manufacturing sector. Apart from this, the participation of companies like GE, Airbus and Safran in the field of training (skilling) in the aerospace sector has been sought. The minister reminded that training has been given on behalf of Telangana Academy of Knowledge and Skills (TASK) for the human resources required by the companies already operating in Telangana.
They were asked to come forward to participate in training programs. Companies operating in the aerospace sector were asked to start their operations there in view of the opportunities to provide tech support services required from second-tier cities like Warangal. Airbus India CEO Anand Stanley, Saffron India CEO Pierre DeKaly, Be Systems MD Nick Kanna, GE Aviation India Head (Country Head) Vikram Roy, Talas Company Vice President Kapil Kishore, United Technologies Regional Director Samit Ray and others had a special meeting with the minister. Delhi Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal was also present in these meetings.
