Hyderabad: State Election Commission Commissioner Nagireddy released the municipal election notification on Tuesday evening as per the earlier announced schedule. Election officials in the respective municipalities will issue notices on Wednesday morning, immediately after that. He said that the acceptance of nominations will start from 10.30 am. After the High Court dismissed the petitions on the municipal elections, he held a media conference and released the notification as per the schedule. Elections will be held on 22, he said. Elections will be held for a total of 120 municipalities and 09 corporations. January 10 is said to be the last date for receipt of nominations. He said that nominations (scrutiny) will be examined on 11th.
On 12th, those rejected were given an opportunity to appeal to an officer nominated by the District Collector. He said that the deadline for withdrawal has been fixed till 3 pm on the 14th. The list of candidates will be announced on the same day. On 22 From 7 o’clock Polling will be held till 5 o’clock. Counting of votes will be done on 25th. If repolling has to be done, it will be held on 24th. In municipalities, the candidate’s expenditure should not exceed Rs.1 lakh, and in the corporation, the candidate’s expenditure should not exceed Rs.50,000. GHMC Dabirpura Ward No. 30 vacancy is also being notified. According to the GHMC Act, there is no possibility of appeal if the nomination is rejected.
He said that the High Court has said that there are some disturbances in the voter communities in Karimnagar, and if they can be resolved then they can go to the polls. He said that the presence of one in the draft and another in the final list has come to the attention of the court. They said that they are talking to the election officials of Karimnagar and if the mistakes are rectified they will issue a notification by midnight. A list of supplementary voters will be taken based on the voter registration and deletions received so far.
