Since 2004, the family of former Chief Minister KCR has contested every Assembly and Parliament election. Until yesterday, many speculated that KCR, his son KTR and his nephew Tanneer Harish Rao would contest the Lok Sabha elections. But none of them entered the ring.

KCR’s daughter K. Kavitha contested for the Lok Sabha seat from Nizamabad in 2019 and lost. But this time she is not contesting for the Lok Sabha seat. KCR, who was earlier in the Telugu Desam Party, has resigned from the TDP. After that he formed Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) party. Telangana Movement was revived in 2001. Elected to Lok Sabha from Karimnagar in 2004. He retained his seat in the 2006 by-election and 2008 as well. KCR was elected from Mahbub Nagar in 2009. He achieved Telangana state during his tenure.
