Holidays for election related officials are closed
Hyderabad: State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has directed the District Collectors to make appropriate arrangements to conduct the Municipal Elections in a peaceful atmosphere and without any trouble in accordance with the schedule announced by the State Election Commission. A video conference was held with the District Collectors from BRKR Bhavan on Wednesday. Speaking on this occasion, CS said that District Collectors should pay special attention and pay full attention to the election process. As elections are being held for municipalities and municipal corporations on a large scale for the first time in the state, special attention should be paid to issues like appointment of election staff, printing of ballot papers, ballot boxes and collection of papers.
As there are more municipalities in Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri, Manchiryala, Sangareddy and Nalgonda districts, they should pay special attention and have knowledge about each municipality. More attention should be paid to the new municipalities. A special calendar should be prepared for the work to be done every day in connection with the conduct of the elections and due care should be taken of the rejected nominations. He said that the role of collectors is important in the conduct of elections and they should participate fully in the entire election process. Talked to the Collectors about the preparations for the district elections. Municipal Administration Department Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar said that Collectors should have close liaison with Municipal Commissioners at every stage of the election process.
He said that the reports related to the elections should be sent regularly and they should be sent to the State Election Commission. For this, a special monitoring system should be established in the district. He directed the Collectors not to grant leave to any officer connected with the election process and to take appropriate action against those absent without permission. They want to make a plan to complete each process like nominations, polling and counting according to the specified time. It should be reviewed at the district level.
